Purpase: The research was carried out to examine the views of the nursing department students on spirituality and spiritual care.
Method: AraÅ?tırma öncesi etik kuruldan, kurumdan ve öÄ?rencilerden izin alındı. AraÅ?tırmanın evrenini; fakültede okuyan tüm hemÅ?irelik öÄ?rencileri, örneklemini ise; araÅ?tırmaya katılmaya istekli olan toplam 500 öÄ?renci ile çalıÅ?ma tamamlanmıÅ?tır. Veriler soru formu ve maneviyat manevi bakımı algılama ölçeÄ?i ile toplandı. Bu ölçekten alınan puanlar 17- 85 arasındadır. Toplam puanın yüksek olması maneviyat ve manevi bakım kavramlarının algılanma düzeyinin iyi olduÄ?unu göstermektedir.
Finding: 66.2% of the students stated that they received information about spiritual care and 27.4% stated that they received this information at school. 60.2% of the students stated that they met the need for spiritual care with worship. 89.0% of the students stated that they believed in consideration. The average scores of the students who participated in the study were found to be 66.83 ± 5.01 for spiritual and spiritual care perception scale. Students' spirituality and spiritual care scores show a statistically significant increase compared to their undergraduate grades (p <0.05). In the study, the mean scores of students with authoritarian family structure were found to be statistically lower than the students with democratic family structure and foster family structure.
Result and Recommendations: Spirituality and spiritual care are an important part of the holistic nursing approach. In our study, the average of spirituality and spiritual care scores of the nursing students was found to be good. t was determined that the students had knowledge from different sources about spiritual care. Family structure, bachelor's degree, cultural differences affect the level of spirituality and spiritual care. Courses covering the scientific data on spirituality and spiritual care in nursing education and the importance of this subject should be given homogeneously at all undergraduate degrees. In addition, the teaching staff of the nursing department should determine the religious and cultural knowledge of the students related to the concept of spirituality.
